(CercleFinance.com) - Gemalto has announced finalising the acquisition of the Identity Management business from the American conglomerate 3M after receiving approval from regulatory and competition authorities.

This acquisition enhances Gemalto's offer of government programs with biometric technology and new security features for documents, while positioning the company to deliver solutions to the commercial biometrics market.

The Identity Management business will be integrated within Gemalto's government programs. In 2016, it generated revenues of 202 million euros and a result of operational activities estimated at 53 million dollars.
